Links

All of these links are worth looking at. If you know of any better ones, please let us know!

Moodle is UCC's Virtual Learing Environment.

We are launching this in Spring 2008 and your ICT teacher should be giving you your User ID soon. Sixth form students will get their ID's from their form tutors.

Sam Learning - The best revision site. YOU have a personal account there. Use it! Remember, our centre ID is CA11UC.

Easylink is the name of the new service that allows you to see your 'My Documents' folder on the school network. It will ask for your network UserID and Password and then you follow the links on the screen. If you get an error message saying 'files or folders not available' then please contact the Network Support Team who will help you out. Unfortunately you cannot access any shared folders or school programs like SIMS.

This service is now available to all members of the school community! Unfortunately it does not work with all web browsers - users of Firefox may encounter problems.

If you encounter a problem with logging in were you just get a blank screen, then please run this fix first, click here to download.

BBC Learning   A big site with subjects, references and support in all sorts of areas. For another look at the same thing, and with more colour,

try BBC Schools

Topmarks is a mixed bag of links and references which changes on a fairly regular basis. Worth taking the trouble to explore.

CLEO is Cumbria's own set of resources. You can get at all sorts of free stuff from here.

Especially for English:

Andrew Moore's Universal Teacher site has notes, information and guides on a wide variety of topics. He is particularly strong on exam units. This site is particularly strong on Writers from Different Cultures.

If you are doing GCSE English or English Literature, or English Literature A Level, you should check out Spark Notes for a free online guide to your set book.

And of course, there is a lot of material on BBC Bitesize which you can read, mark and inwardly digest.

When you're looking for something away from exam focus, then see what your friends have been recommending by logging onto our Recommended Books page.If you are looking for a book for your book review, there are some excellent suggestions here from previous students who enjoyed them.
